Second Book of the Year!

I can’t believe how slowly I’m getting through my books this year.

Honestly, I know  I’m busy this year, but 2026 is not going to be my reading year. I’d love to be super focused on reading, but I’ve got so much going on in my life, and so many things going through my mind, that reading has not been a priority.

Even so, a couple of nights ago I finished re-reading Scythe by Neal Schusterman. I really enjoyed it, which was kind of a surprise because the last time I re-read this book, I didn’t  love it.

This is such a fun YA utopia/dystopia. It’s set in a future where natural death has been cured, an (almost) all knowing/powerful AI system controls nearly everything, and people are trained as Scythes to ensure that the planet doesn’t become overpopulated.

I think this book was a really easy read fkr me. Maybe that’s because I sort of knew what to expect in the plot, so I was looking forward to certain plot points. But also the story was really engaging, and it’s really easy to empathise with the characters.

This book has got me a bit more excited about reading, but again, I have a lot going on right now, and focusing really isn’t going well. Lol.

What have you been reading recently? Any tips on how to fit more reading into my day?

Until next time,

Love, Bobbi. Xx.
