Restarting Royal Assassin.

I’ve  been thinking about restarting Royal Assassin for weeks now. I read Assassin’s Apprentice years ago. Maybe 2021 or 2022. And then a couple of months after finishing it, I started Royal Assassin. I only got about 175 pages into it last time. And since then it has been so long since I read them…

I’ve  been thinking about restarting Royal Assassin for weeks now. I read Assassin’s Apprentice years ago. Maybe 2021 or 2022. And then a couple of months after finishing it, I started Royal Assassin.

I only got about 175 pages into it last time. And since then it has been so long since I read them that I hardly remember anything that happened in the first book.

Yesterday I looked up a summary of the first book to help remind me of the story. Then I read the first few pages of Royal Assassin and the prologue gave me a bit more detail on what happened in Assassin’s Apprentice.

I’m now around page 15, and I’m  starting to feel more comfortable with understanding everything that’s  happening. At least, I’m  not super confused at the moment. Lol.

I’ve heard so many good things about this series, but I’ve also heard that it doesnt actually get good until about half way through this book. I remember Assassin’s Apprentice to be a bit of a drag. I don’t know. Fantasy books are often quite slow unti, the plot gets going. I liked the characters in the first book. I think when I get into this story a bit more I’ll really enjoy it. Although I do find adult fantasy books to be slow in general. They usually take me months to read. I’m hoping that it doesn’t take me too long to read this book.

To be honest, I’m really exited to get to the Ship of Magic trilogy. It souns really exciting. But I still need to get through Royal Assassin  and Assassin’s Quest first. I don’t think I’ll finish this trilogy before the end of the year. I can always try, but like I said, adult fantasy takes me ages to read.

I’m now in the middle of eight books at the moment. So that’s going to slow me down a bit too. Haha.

Anyway, I’m looking forward to finally continuing this series. I really hope it lives up to the hype.

What have you been reading recently?

Until next time,

Love, Bobbi. Xx.

My favorite fantasy writer is Mercedes Lackey. I have been reading her since I was a teenager (many years ago!), and she is still writing today. I love the Valdemar series, especially. I kind of got out of the fantasy world a while ago and haven’t kept up with the newer writers.

I’ve never read that author before I’ll have to look into her writing. I think fantasy is such a fun genre because it can be so varied. Like, it include something quite minimal, like The House in the Cerulean Sea, to epic fantasies, like Brandon Sanderson’s Stormlight Archives. I really love reading every area of fantasy. There’s always something that fits my mood.
