This is quite a new development for me. My brother has been trying to get me to read manga for years. I tried reading some a little while ago. I read the first volume of Death Note, which was okay. I’ve seen the live action movies, so I sort of knew what was going to happen.

I’ve got the first volume of Pokemon Adventures, which I have tried reading, but didn’t get very far. I’d really like to have another go at it again.

I also tried reading Orange a few months ago. I got a few chapters into it, but I still need to go back and finish it. I found it quite gentle, but maybe a little slow with the plot.

At the end of October I went to my first Comic Con in London. It was lots of fun, and there was anime stuff everywhere, which helped me to get more excited for trying manga again. While I was there I bought the boxeset of Chainsaw Man, and have since read the first couple of chapters. That was good fun, and I want to keep going either it.

My brother also encouraged me to download the Shonun Jump app, which gives you access to loads of different mangas, and you can sample a few chapters of them before you buy them, or you can subscribe monthly to get full access to them.

So I used that to start on One Piece, which is a Pirate fantasy. That was pretty cool. I only read one or two chapters of it, and there are over a thousand chapters of it.

I’m really excited to keep exploring manga, and getting more familiar with it. I think it’s great to explore fiction through different media, and I think telling stories through art is such a great talent.

Do you read many manga or graphic novels? Do you have any recommendations? Let me know!

Until next time,

Love, Bobbi. Xx.

Not a manga reader, congrats on entering the world of manga. Check out light novels as well.
