I can’t believe it took over 100 days, but I’ve fonally finished my first book of the year.
I stil, have three books that I’ve started qnd not yet finished, but the most recent book I started was Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, and I finished it in ten days.
Honestly, I forgot how good that series is. I’ve only read it once before, and that was around 2014, so it’s been a good long while since I last read it.
I can’t wait to get back to the rest of the series, although I think I might wait a while before I do that.
Working term time means I get a lot of weeks off during the year, so I might just wait u til summer break to read any more from this series.
I’m not sure if I want to continue with the other books I started this year. Im enjoying A Man Called Ove, but it’s just not as engaging as I would like. I find the protagonists very negative. And I know he’s supposed to have a story arc where he goes from grumpy old man to not so grumpy. But I’m just not vibing with it.
Then there’s Her Majesty’s Royal Coven. I’ve only read a few pages of it, so I guess I haven’t read y given it a proper chance yet, but I’m not very excited about it either.
And the other book is She Who Became the Sun. Bits of it are okay. It’s not super exciting. But I’m buddy readi g it with my brother, so I want to keep going for now. I’m not even to page 100 in it yet, so I guess I could keep going for a bit.
I’m just finding these books quite slow. Maybe I just need to read kore fantasy again. I have a few other books that I want to re-read, like The Raven Boys, Scythe, and The Fifth Season. But I also own about 200 books that I’ve never read before. Lol.
I just want to enjoy reading again like I have for the past week and a half. Hoenstly, there was at least lne day where I read over 100 pages, and other days where I just couldn’t put the book down.
I want that from every book I read. I want it from new books, not just from ones I’ve read before.
Anyway, I’m really pleased that I had a good reading week, and that I finished a book. Hopefully I can keep it up. I’m not far from finishing AMCO, so maybe I can push through to the end of it. It’s only about 140 pages left.
But we’ll see. In the meantime, let me know what you have been reading, and books that you love to re-read every now and then.
Personally I often find myself going back to The Book Thief every couple of years or so.
Until next time,
Love, Bobbi. Xx.
