So I have come to the conclusion that I am far too overstimulated ghese days.
I spend far too much time on my phone or listening to music. I’ve always got videos or music playing in the background, and I can feel my brain getti g stressed out from it all.
So I’ve decided to turn off my social media accounts so I don’t doomscroll all the time, and I’m limiting my access to streaming so I on,y watch things with intention, rather than for lack of any other form of entertainment.
I’m hoping that this will help me to gain back my focus and interest when doing activities that don’t require screens.
I like to think of myself as a creative person. I enjoy drawing and painting (although I don’t have a visual imagination, so I can only really creeate art based on thigs I can see – usually I draw from photos and things). I want to do my art things. I want to be able to enjoy my creativity again. And hopefully this will help a lot with my focus on reading.
A few days ago I started re-reading the first Percy Jackson book. I’ve read six chapters so far, and I forgot how much I enjoyed this series.
I didn’t read these books until I was in university, and I read the Heroes of Olympus series first. But they were so much fun, even for people who aren’t the age demographic for these books. I think they can be enjoyable for everyone.
I’m really hoping that I’ll keep up my joy with this series and it will help me to get back into the habit of regular reading sessions.
What have you been reading lately? I’m interested to know if you are affected by screen time and doomscrolling.
Until next time,
Love, Bobbi. Xx.
