In continuing with my buddy reading, the books my brother and I are reading are Leviathan Wakes by James S A Corey, and The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson.

I have read The Final Empire before, but I’ve been looking forward to re-reading the series for ages. Similarly, my brother has previously read Leviathan Wakes, but he never continued with the series. We plan to read more books from The Expanse series together in the future.

In addition to the buddy reads, I am also reading The Final Gambit by Jennifer Lynn Barnes, Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden, and Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree.

The Final Gambit was a book that I started right at the beginning of this year. I’m a little annoyed at myself for not ifinishing it yet, but there’s not much I can do about it now except to just get on with reading it. I’m still enjoying it as much as I enjoyed the previous books in the series.

I also started Memoirs of a Geisha a few months ago. This was one of the books I was biddy reading in February, but I never got around to finishing it. Again, I’m annoyed with myself about it. I still plan to continue with it, but I’m not enjoying it too much, so I’m not too excited about getting around to it.

And then there is Legends & Lattes which is possiby the best book I’ve read so fa rhtis year. I’m not even 100 pages into this book, but the characters are so colourful, and the narrative is so absorbing. It’s comforting and extremely entertaining. I would say it’s the perfect cosy fantasy. I just hope it continues along this way.

In any case, most of the books I’m reading are good, I just need to build up my habit of reading each day. I’ve said in previous posts that for the buddy reading my brother and I are reading a certainnumber of pages for each day. For April we are reading 40 pages per day, which is the most we’ve decided to read in one day.

So far I’m doing okay with sticking to 40 pages each day, but I’m also trying to get some extra pages in on days when I’m not working. This is where I seem to be falling short.

My current tactic to improve this is using the Forest app, which is designed to help with productivity. It allows to focus on tasks without getting distracted by your phone.

I’ll leet you know how it all goes soon.

Until next time,
Love, Bobbi. Xx.
