Since 2013 I have been tracking the number of books I have read each year. When I was first getting started I didn’t read all that many. I think I read about nine books in 2013 (so technically 2022 isn’t my worst reading year).
But for the past two or three years I have read between 40-50 books, and at the start of this year I wanted to keep that up and try to actually read one book each week. This was going well until the end of March, and then I just stopped reading all toghether.
This year has been my worst reading slump. I didn’t read anything at all from the beginning of April until the end of August. In September I decided I would encourage myself back into reading by re-reading the final Harry Potter book (I bought the US editions back in 2018, and now I’ve finally read them).
So I want to spend the rest of this year getting the joy back from reading. I have a lot of books that I started earlier this year and still not finished. Part of me feels that there is no point going back to these, but some of them still interest me. I guess we’ll just have to see how it goes.
Since September all I’ve wanted to do is re-read books I know that I’ve enjoyed. I guess that’s not a bad thing, but it doesn’t quite feel productive.
How’s your reading year going? And also, how do you keep track of everything that you read?
Until next time,
Love, Bobbi. Xx.
